Wrightwood 659
Art Gallery

Pivotal’s architectural lighting design was essential to this exceptional vintage three-story apartment building restoration project. Before transforming into a private art gallery, the building underwent an extensive renovation, only preserving its exterior walls. Viewed as an architectural masterpiece, the space is optimized to host fundraisers, events, and exclusive art exhibitions.

Pivotal designed a multifaceted lighting and controls system that seamlessly integrates within new and existing architectural details, complementing the pure geometric forms of Tadao Ando's architectural vision.

The Pivotal team researched and tested new and legacy lighting and control technologies to ensure systems are easy to use and adapt to future technologies. Extensive mockups ensured optimal luminaire placement within architectural details. A combination of concealed wired and wireless control points makes customized white light and color-changing options available anywhere within the gallery. The lighting design enhanced the elegance of this unique neighborhood art gallery.
