Senior Lighting Designer

Senior Lighting Designer Jennifer Newman is a seasoned lighting professional whose passion lies at the intersection of science, art, and technology. Her journey began at the University of Colorado at Boulder, initially studying architecture before finding her passion in lighting design within the School of Engineering. Determined to pursue both disciplines, she forged her own path, eventually landing at Pivotal Lighting Design at Affiliated Engineer, Inc.’s Seattle office.  

Since joining Pivotal Lighting Design in 2008, Jennifer has honed her expertise in designing lighting and electrical systems for a variety of projects, including those in higher education, office spaces, research and development facilities, and healthcare settings. Her role encompasses architectural, exterior, and interior lighting design, as well as low-voltage and power distribution system design. 

Jennifer's work reflects her fascination with the multifaceted nature of light and its impact on the environments we inhabit. She finds inspiration in the ever-changing light of the Pacific Northwest, where she is based. With a blend of technical skill and artistic sensibility, Jennifer continues to contribute to creating spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
