A Comprehensive Analysis of the Kentucky Children’s Hospital’s NICU Renovation and Advanced Lighting Design

In collaboration with a Pacific Northwest National Laboratory project partner, Pivotal Studio Leader Lauri Tredinnick led a complimentary webinar, delving into cutting-edge Kentucky Children’s Hospital neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) renovation.

Integrating novel lighting design approaches, the NICU features tunable lighting systems that support newborn patients’ circadian rhythms. The project team analyzed lighting system control data from five NICU patient rooms, illustrating how meticulous examination can improve both design and patient outcomes.

Hosted by Illuminating Engineering Society: New York City Section, this virtual presentation, titled “Controls Data Help Refine NICU Lighting: A Renovation Case Study,” highlights the importance of innovative lighting solutions in healthcare environments.
